Recently WAY FM had a super fun day broadcasting live at Harvest Launceston! We connected with producers, farmers, volunteers and even the army, as well as tried a heap of tasty Tassie produce – wow what a range!
I caught up with Harvest Market manager – Caroline Williamson – for an insightful and informative chat about the Launceston icon. Harvest Market is 6 years old and in that short time has won 2 national awards! The market has 50+ stalls and attracts 4000 people each Saturday morning. Harvest Launceston is a not for profit organisation, with funds invested wholly back into the market!
We watched as Caroline and her dedicated team transformed the Cimitiere street car park – in impressive short time – into a haven for fine food fans! But its not just about local produce, with entertainment and activities for the kids on the menu too!
Caroline explained that one thing that sets Harvest apart is that stallholders must access predominantly Tasmanian grown products or ingredients from Tasmania! What an awesome point of difference!
