So, here and now – today – on a scale of zero to ten, how close do you feel to God? Ten is a rich, intimate, powerful relationship with Jesus. Zero is … a million miles away. So how close do you feel to Him right now?

There are so many people walking around who … well, a long time ago, had a wonderful relationship with Jesus. But you know how it goes – the day-to-day pressures of work, family, children … one thing led to another, and now it seems that this Jesus is a million miles away. Was it ever real? Is He still out there?

And to make things worse, the further we drift away, the more those old bad habits – do you mind if I use this word? – the more those old sins come creeping back into our lives. I wonder … do you know anyone like that?

Perhaps it’s time for a wakeup call.

Romans 6:22 But now you are free from sin. You have become slaves of God, and the result is that you live only for God. This will bring you eternal life.

Friend, listen to me. Jesus died and rose again for you; to pay for all your sins and to give you a brand new life, a life free from those old sins, a life that’s meant to be lived for Him, and Him alone. Do you believe that, or not?

Well – if you do, it’s time to decide.

Look … you and I, we can make all the excuses under the sun … busy, pressures, responsibilities. Stop making excuses. Decide.

Decide to live your life only for God. Decide to love, decide to honour, decide to humble yourself, decide that from here on in, every breath you take, every step you make, will be for Him … and Him alone.

That’s the path to eternal life. Decide.
