Respite Care Information Session
What if some short term care could make a lifetime of difference?
Do you know a child in care in your school or church community?
Could you become their respite carer?
Respite care is for everyone! You just need to be willing to invest in a child’s life.
Come & find out what is involved in being a respite carer and begin the process!
Respite foster carers are carers who look after a child or sibling group for one weekend a month or in school holidays to give the full time carers a break and as importantly, are additional caring adults in these children’s lives. Just like all kids, children in care need to know they are loved, they are part of a community that believes in them, and there are a whole lot of safe and caring adults in their world.
Respite carers can be any age over 18 and any stage of life. Often older people or younger people without kids are great respite carers as they can make it a really fun weekend! Or people who already have kids that are friends with the kids in care and can have them over with their kids, are also great respite carers at it is normalising for the kids.
Launceston Convention Centre, 50 Glen Dhu Street, South Launceston 7249. 6 pm to 8 pm.
