City Baptist Church
City Baptist Church is a network of faith communities including our life groups as much as our Sunday morning congregation. We have regular network-wide gatherings (Celebrate) and our life group coordinators often meet.
We seek to be a welcoming presence in the city centre, providing meals, emergency accommodation, a listening ear and a place of quiet through a range of activities and programs. We hope you quickly feel included and welcome in our midst!
Currently we have five faith communities (known as life groups) that are each uniquely designed to take Christian community into a sub-group of the Launceston society. These are much more than typical ‘small groups’. Each is a congregation or ‘church plant’. About 40% of all our participants do not regularly attend on Sundays. They are ‘doing church’ in an alternate way – reaching out to those who are unlikely to join us on a Sunday.
City Baptist Church believes that Jesus is relevant to all of life. One implication of this is our strong commitment to matters of social justice and peacemaking. This is expressed in a range of ways throughout the network.
We are part of a network of twelve Baptist Churches in and around Launceston. Our heart is to work cooperatively wherever possible, to assist each other and to see God’s kingdom extended.

Sunday service is at 10 am.
