At our recent outside broadcast at Harvest Launceston – I had the awesome opportunity to talk to Army recruitment captain, Breece Gevaux! The Army guys turned up in a armoured vehicle at Harvest market after stints at ANZAC Day and AGFEST.
The Army actively targets towns across northern Tassie that have experienced down turns in the economy – with something like 400 jobs provided each year and 60% of those are from the north!
Breece chatted about the armed forces contribution in humanitarian causes, which is extensive! For example, we had a lot of help from the forces in our own backyard during the Dunalley fires.
Breece’s light horse slouch hat had some interesting stories around its history and why it has Emu plumes as decoration!
Here’s our informative chat !
